Funding Priorities

The Fort Dodge Gridiron Club has three major funding priority categories:

Safety – Ensuring that the safety of our student-athletes is a top priority.

Technology – Equipping our coaches and players with cutting-edge technology to drive performance on the field.

Dodger Pride – Enhancing the pride that our players and fans feel when supporting our Dodger football team.

What We Are Hoping to Fund in 2022!

Computers/Laptops – The computer(s) provided to the coaching staff are becoming exceedingly dated limiting the capability. These are used for watching film, cutting up clips for use in position meetings, etc. Most of the computing equipment used by the coaching staff is 10 years or older.

TV’s – Similar to above, the coaching staff has a single TV in the coaching office. To watch film as a team or in position groups, the staff and players either have to schedule different times to do so or huddle around small computer monitors, often times crammed into the coaching office. Ideally, having a flat panel TV in various areas of the locker rooms would allow position groups, along with their coaches, the ability to meet and effectively review and discuss film.

New red pants – The red pants used by the Varsity have become dated, worn, and are no longer usable by the players. An alternative pant for home or road games would be an exciting addition for the players.

Entry tunnel – Creating an exciting atmosphere to start games creates great memories for the players. The custom video created last year was a great step in the right direction. Adding a custom tunnel for the players to enter the field from the locker room would be another great enhancement.

On field/sideline technology – Over the years the coaching staff has added sideline technology to provide the same in-game advantages many of our competing school districts have had for years. These include Coach Pads that allow for staff in the booth to draw up in-game adjustments and communicate them down to the field, as well as a camera that catches images that can relayed to a TV on the sideline. Additional Coach Pads are needed so all staff members will have access as well as battery packs to power this equipment.
